Resolutions, Rules & Regulations

· 3 min read

Welcome to the first edition of the #ArchitectTomorrow newsletter in 2022! Talking of 2022 do check the previous installment on 2022 trends. At the end of that installment I stupidly made a joke about COVID (not that CV19 is funny) and of course the irony is that I caught it (very mild and now nearly out of isolation). But back to good news - there is a load of really interesting Architect Tomorrow content to talk about. Also new for 2022 much of that content is available as an audio podcast (find us on the main platforms like Spotify and Apple).

Introducing the Architecture Podcast Mash-Up series:

This Business Technology Strategy & Architecture Podcast Mash up of the below podcasts really explores what we need to do in order to make pragmatic progress on the professionalisation (and rules) of Enterprise, Business and Technology Architects. Standardising the Architecture profession is too big a topic for one episode or even one podcast (or one book author for that matter!) so we feature:

How effective is Enterprise Architecture in 2022?

Whilst Architect Tomorrow hosted this first mashup episode with Paul Preiss (CEO IASA), Chris Lockhart (CST), Whynde Kuehn (Straight Talk), Phil Yanov (Tech After Five and CST) the next episode will get picked up by one of the other podcast hosts. Chris Potts mentor (and author of the Fruition Trilogy of books) joined us as well and we hope he can join us for some of the future episodes too!

Next up in this space for Architect Tomorrow is a conversation with some of the members of Intersection and some of the authors of the Enterprise Design Patterns book which is well worth a read.

Regulations

So the above covered the guiderails we need to agree on for architecture (perhaps one day we will see regulations around the BT / EA role) but what about technology as a whole? What about regulations relating to sustainability? Industry specific regulations like those for the Telecoms industry.

These are all very much themes for future episodes! Look out for some great content and speakers in this space.

Topics of interest

If you are interested in joining the conversation around any of the above, the following topics or you have a hot topic of your own (no hard sales though please!) do get in touch:
