About Architect Tomorrow
Our mission
Empowering architects and technology leaders to become holistic changemakers. Through honest, multidisciplinary conversation, we challenge hype, champion responsible innovation and sustainability, and explore how architecture and systems thinking can tackle the biggest challenges our organisations and society face.
About the podcast
Smart people from across disciplines talk architecture, technology and the future.
Architect Tomorrow is an independent, community-led podcast, newsletter and global network for enterprise, business and technology architects and tech-savvy leaders who believe architecture should actively shape a brighter future, not just document the present.
We challenge hype, champion responsible innovation and holistic sustainability, and explore how architecture and systems thinking can tackle the biggest challenges our organisations and society face. Independent by design. Honest, multidisciplinary and occasionally funny.
If you’re passionate about using architecture to make the world genuinely better, not just more automated, you’re in the right place.
What is Architect Tomorrow?
Origins. Founded by Oliver Cronk at the end of 2019, before COVID, as a response to not being able to get to physical conferences. It started while Oliver was at Tanium and has been fully independent since 2022. It was inspired by Eddie Obeng’s concept of a “world after midnight”, where our environment changes faster than we can understand it. Today Architect Tomorrow is independent and community-led, with volunteer leads across many regions and themes worldwide.
What we cover. We span four broad areas:
- The future of enterprise and domain architecture, including (but not limited to) AI, data, cloud, sustainability, ecosystems and integration.
- The future of the profession, whether you’re an EA, business architect, solution architect or in a related technology leadership role. We love inspiring career stories and always make time for speakers to share their personal journeys.
- Sustainable and responsible technology, because this is the architecture of tomorrow we actually need. Environmental, economic and social sustainability run through everything we do.
- Ecosystem and systems thinking, looking beyond organisational boundaries to understand how architecture connects to markets, society and the planet.
Who is it for?
Technology decision makers and strategists, typically reporting to or serving as CTO/CIO, often (but not always) with an architect job title. Enterprise architects, solution architects, business architects and specialist domain architects are the core audience, usually at large or complex organisations. But we also welcome the curious: product leaders, programme managers and tech-savvy business leaders who want to connect the dots.
This community is not just about technology on its own. Enterprise architecture covers business, people, society and environmental considerations. Architects and senior technology leaders need to see the bigger picture and that is what our conversations reflect. We can go deep into tech, but we’re more interested in the strategic “so what” than the engineering detail.
Independence matters
Architect Tomorrow has been independent since 2022, and is independent of any vendor, consultancy or recruiter. Contributors are welcome from those organisations, but only where they have a genuine track record of independent thought and contribution. We don’t do sponsored content or pay-to-play guest slots, although we are considering some form of sponsorship to cover operational costs (TBC).
Fun as much as informing
The most consistent feedback we get from participants is that they have a lot of fun. Maybe it’s because they expect public speaking to be stressful, or maybe our moderators are just good at putting people at ease. Either way, it’s become a goal in itself: the recording should be as valuable an experience for you as it is for the audience.
The guiding principle: is it insightful? Might it be funny? Could it be both? Then say it!
Diversity and representation
We are committed to ensuring under-represented groups working in tech are visible in the community. The industry needs diversity of thought and experience, and that requires people from all backgrounds to have role models. When we run panels we strive for diversity, but we’re pragmatic rather than target-driven, recognising the industry still has a long way to go.
Who leads it?
Meet the community leads, who look after Europe, the US, Australia and Africa.
